New York Fashion Week 2023 – MIRROR PALAIS

New York Fashion Week – Mirror Palais

MIRROR PALAIS

It was fairly obvious from the gaggle of selfie-snapping girls, sweating to death but princess pouting anyway, while trying to keep their Haus Lab’s foundation glued to their faces, that gave us a hint of what Mirror Palais, designed by Queens native Marcelo Gaia, was about to show at the majestic American Irish Historical Society: rejoice! The half naked look is alive and well for spring 2024. Well, let’s say three quarters naked – it had to go somewhere, right? Bodies, bodies, bodies of all sizes were on full display, wrapped in wispy chiffon belly grazing wrap tops, thigh-view wrap skirts and sheer everything. Is it fun, flirty, femme to the max? Sure. If you’re 20. Or if you’re over 30, built like Emily Ratajkowski (32) or Irina Shayk (37). Wear these clothes if you dare: dare to spend five hours a day working out, on the all-sashimi diet. Or if you’re just a run of the mill exhibitionist, like many present.
